Open Ideas in the main menu and choose New board. You can begin without a name or an associated book.
Begin with a question
Create an independent board. Use text, images, shapes, and arrows to explore your story before creating a book.
Organize without committing
Bring possibilities together, group references, and keep alternatives in view. Arranging the board does not change chapter order.
Keep going as you write
Open Ideas beside the manuscript to consult your board and capture a new thought without interrupting your writing.
Bring developed ideas into your book
Associate a board with a book and use an idea as a chapter, scene, entity, or note. Chapters and scenes receive the planning note; the manuscript stays ready for you to write.
Notes and references have a life of their own: editing an idea does not rewrite your manuscript. Arrows organize the visual composition; they do not automatically create character relationships or a timeline.
