Goals and metrics

Track progress with automatic metrics in the editor and dashboard.

• Word count, paragraphs, and estimated reading time per chapter/scene.

• Pacing: average sentence length, dialogue versus narrative, and variation throughout the chapter.

• Goals: define chapter and/or scene word goals. Progress uses the effective total.

• Divergence alert: if chapter and scene goals mismatch, Inkthar highlights it so you can adjust.

Metrics update as you write and feed habits and dashboard charts.

• Where to view? At the top of the editor and in “Dashboard”.

• Tip: short per-scene goals provide faster feedback and help maintain pacing.
