Local-first: everything is stored locally on your device. There is no Inkthar remote server or cloud sync for your projects.
Optional AI: cloud AI services are only accessed when you configure a provider and use an assisted action.
Backups on your terms: you decide where to keep project copies and can use an external drive or the cloud service of your choice.

Origin and integrity verification

Code signing helps the operating system confirm who published an application and whether its package has changed since it was signed. Each platform has its own verification process.

macOS — Signed and notarized

Inkthar for macOS is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. This allows Gatekeeper to confirm the application's origin and verify that the package has not changed since it was signed.

Windows — Signing in progress

The Windows installer is not yet code signed. As a result, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may display a warning. We are working to provide origin verification on Windows as well.

Use the download links on the official Inkthar website. If you see an unexpected warning, confirm that you are using the latest version and contact the team before continuing.

When contacting us, include your operating system, Inkthar version, and, if possible, a screenshot of the warning. This helps us confirm the installer's origin and guide you safely.
