Local-first: everything is stored locally on your device. There is no Inkthar remote server or cloud sync for your projects.
Installation and system warnings: right now, macOS and Windows may show first-launch alerts because the app does not yet carry accumulated commercial signing reputation.
Control over your data: Inkthar runs locally and keeps your writing on your machine during normal use. Cloud AI features only come into play when you configure a provider and use an assisted action.

Why might macOS or Windows show a warning?

Because the app does not yet have commercial distribution signing. That can trigger a first-launch warning, but it does not mean the app is unsafe. Inkthar runs locally on your computer and does not send your writing to Inkthar servers during normal use.

On macOS

If macOS shows a warning when opening the app, right-click Inkthar.app and choose Open. If needed, confirm it in System Settings > Privacy & Security. This is common for independent apps that have not gone through commercial signing yet.

On Windows

If SmartScreen appears, click More info and then Run anyway. This is a system warning for apps that do not yet have accumulated signing reputation, not an automatic sign that there is something wrong with Inkthar.
